BSG utilizes the standard starter motor for cold starts and the Belt Start Generator for s/s events, and has a 48v secondary battery located on the inside of the driver's side frame rail next to the rear driveshaft. You could also peak under there. I have the 2.0 w/ BSG. Heres a pic of the 48v battery and its skid plate.
