I feel like I've heard so much about the 990s I'm just going to bite the bullet and pay for them. Standard width New Balance shoes are wider than standard width Adidas shoes. NB just has wider silhouettes as a whole. I’d give the standard width + going a half size up. Baltimorean here. I'd agree that the 990 v3 is the go-to New Balance model here, especially among the black community. I am black, if that matters, and live in a majority black neighborhood in Baltimore so I'm fairly familiar with the zeitgeist of the community in general, and we're only about 40 miles from DC so there are some cultural similarities between the cities. 880 out of the choices you mentioned, but for me personally I find the 1080 a great running shoe, 990v5 and 993 as great premium comfortable lifestyle shoes.
