Sp20 wads

Question on .575 20ga round ball. Cast up some pure lead RB's and put them in 20ga claybuster 7/8 wads. The petal thickness on the wads brings the total diameter to .640 which really concerns me in a .620 smooth bore. Remington sp20 wads give me .620 so I feel better there.

The STS 20 is probably the most difficult hull to find a suitable alternative for, unless you're using a very dense powder.SP20's are good substitutes for the WW20F1 but are expensive if you shoot a lot. Try the Windjammer 20. Although the factory lists them as a 7/8oz. wad they work well with 1oz. if you use a low dense, sitting powder like HS6. The Duster orange 20 is a 7/8oz. wad, period. However, the windjammer 20 ga. wad looks promising, if you can find any. So far I have not tried the DVR wad with and thing but 7/8 oz loards. I use the Rem SP20 wad and my old stash of AA20F1 for 1 oz loads.
